Dr. Dasgupta obtained his PhD in Computer Sc. from University of Wollongong, Australia where he was the recipient of the Australian Postgraduate Award. Prior to that he completed his B.E. in Comp. Amitava was on sabbatical from IBM India (Jan 2003-Mar 2005), and visited UNSW, Sydney as visiting Professor (2003-2004) and Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm as Senior Researcher (2004-2005). Earlier to that, he was Senior and Principal Consultant at PwC India from May 1995 to Jun 1999 and Jul 1999 to Sep 2002 respectively. From 1983 to 1995, he was with the Department of ETCE, Jadavpur University, Kolkata in research and teaching position. His contribution in research include the areas of societal engineering, nano communication network, 5G wireless network, complex network, cognitive radio network, wireless communication, sensor network, pervasive computing, mobile computing and communication, optical networks, combinatorial optimization and distributed system. He has around 175 published papers, four patents, five books and four book chapters.
